If the payload release pin isn't releasing as expected, don’t worry — it's often a quick fix with a few simple checks.
Steps to Get Your Payload System Working Smoothly
Step 1: Check That the Drone is Ready to Fly
The payload release system only works when the drone is fully connected and in a "Ready to Fly" state.
- Power on the drone, remote, and Aeroo Fly app.
- Check the app for a "Ready to Fly" status at the top of the screen.
Step 2: Update Your Firmware for Best Performance
Firmware updates often include tweaks that improve the responsiveness and reliability of the release pin.
To update:
- Connect to a stable Wi-Fi connection (home internet is best).
- Open the Aeroo Fly app.
- Go to Settings -> General -> Version.
- Check the firmware version and apply any available updates.
Step 3: Use the Release Button Correctly
- When using the Payload Release Button on the remote, try a quick press rather than holding it down.
- A short press gives the system the right signal to activate.
Step 4: Check for Obstructions
- Take a moment to inspect the payload release pin for any dirt, sand, or debris that could block its movement.
- If needed, give it a gentle clean to ensure smooth operation.
